We started a new painting, a new model and it is most interesting, I am doing it in the style I am most at ease and familiar with - expressionism, color and brush stroke. It is coming along well.
I went today to Lowe Art Gallery to see the exhibit - Critics' Choices. I enjoyed it very much, viewing what is current today in the artworld according to some leading critics.  One thing I noticed and I am glad of - variety. Variety in the sense of different views in an approach to art and a great variety of mediums. This is so important for artists, that he or she may choose his or her own approach to art and whatever mediums he or she deems best for the use of expressing this idea or ideas. In the world today, in this society, it is more so  important than before to remain an individual, to be able to express what one thinks or feels and to be able to stand up for it. How confining and stifling it would be if there was one one aesthetic for all artists to follow, there would be no freedom for expression - so dear to the pure being of Humanity, taken so much for granted today.
