Yesterday I began work on The Expulsion of Innocence. This work will continually evolve as my search for my birth mother, Rita , continues. Right now I've got down the basic structure in charcoal and French Ultramarine Blue. To the left are two figures, the female one from ancient Greece, the male from Egypt. They represent Leonard and Edith, worn out, now defunct idols. To the right are two figures, male and female - perhaps both aspects of me and Merritt. Both figures are close by the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Truth, posted on it and now revealed the Adoption Decree with Rita's name on it. Both figures are now expulsed from innocence. The inner idealism has fallen, it cannot be returned to, and now we must proceed into the unknown, feeling the weight of a new reality. This work will progress as I do my own search. So I've got now the basics down for that.
