Yesterday I was out in the Sandias working on the painting. I got there in the late morning, the sun was out and there was no breeze, the air was calm. I pretty much got down the basic structure. After an hour or so I began to feel the temperature drop, and the sky got darker. Looking around then behind me I saw an immense grey-white cloud, a wide column, heading toward the mountain from the west. I stayed on as long as I could, but it then got colder and windier. Just as I was packing up, the snow began to fall. Well, if anything I got the basic structure of the scene down. I'll have to head back next weekend (weather permitting) and work on it then.
