May 14th, 1995           Sunday

All the while have been listening to Beethoven - love the Piano Concerto n.4,  the Andante con moto and then the Rondo : Vivace. Also the Piano Sonata n.29, Hammerklavier, the Adagio sostenuto really speaks to the inner recesses of the soul, a mulling over of some inner pain, something so deep, so unresolved.

 

June 9th, 1995            Friday

I've finished the still life. Unsure what the background would be, I thought of perhaps fabric - floral, paisley, perhaps animal  - birds. Instead I saw the postcards I had up - Van Gogh's works. The third one to the right was a pen and ink drawing of a landscape in Arles - olive trees with the Alpilles in the background - beautiful. Well, I left it  as it is now. I'm pretty well satisfied with it. Next will be a trip to Abiquiu, scout out that area......
