Too cold to do the pen and ink drawing I had wanted, so I settled in to start on another still life, this one using pottery from the Acoma Pueblo. I'm also using a small orange gouard and two large green chiles - should be interesting. Sunday I'm heading out to the Coronado State Monument. As I learned, the views from there are beautiful - the area around it I know is fine. I also want to check on the area around San Ysidro.

March 19th, 1995         Sunday

I'm going to head out to the Cibola National Forest, near the La Cueva Rec.Area, to do a painting of a cane cholla. The painting's 21" X 27", and the scene consists of the cactus, a yucca and several rocks. The ground has a sandy yellow-orange color. Beautiful. It's set in gradually sloping arroyo, and I'm protected from the wind.I went out yesterday to scout about, and found this scene.
